At this meeting we welcome Abiye Lakew, Project Administrator from Navigator Management Partners LLC who will be working with us from now until end of October to implement the new project management structure that Carrie Lewis has been helping us setup first for Aluminizing and then for the MODS project. Abiye is also a graduate student in the OSU Fisher College of Business, and will be working with us part-time most afternoons. Welcome Abiye!

Structure

Mark Derwent reports that the MODS1 cart is essentially done except for fine finishing work, but short of painting. Progress so far has been excellent, we're most grateful for the wonderful job Indian Creek Fabricators has done for us.

TSIP Proposal

Darren DePoy reported the excellent news that the MODS project has been awarded $2.6M by the NSF TSIP program! This is sufficient funding to now complete both MODS spectrographs and fully equip them with gratings and detectors. This will entail more reporting to NOAO/TSIP, but hopefully their relative proximity should let us merge reporting issues with LBTPO.

When Pat gets back from Tucson it will be party time...
