LBT OSU/RC Queue Observing: UTC 2008 November 23

Summary:

Cloud cover, wind ~7m/s.  Cloud cover all night, had to stop at UT 06:31
due to complete cloud cover, reopened at UT 9:20 with variable thicker
clouds. Seeing was ~.9" for first part of night and ~1.2" for the
second. lost some time at at end of night due to problem with telescope,
tried to get std_U skyflats, most too bright.

- filling dewar...opening dome

UT 00:45
- test g skyflat, 1sec exp 24K counts. ran g-filter skyflat with 1.5sec exp.

UT 00:53
- test r skyflat, 1sec exp 2K counts. ran r-filter skyflat with 10sec exp.

UT 01:04
- moved to N6946, offset 10'N to focus, 

UT 01:27
- starting N6946 OB, seeing 1.-.9"

UT 02:02
- moving to NDsn2494, focused image

UT 02:11
- began OB for NDsn2494_r1

UT 02:21
- stopped OB due to image quality degrading and possible over exp, refocused

UT 02:27
- restarted NDsn2494_r1 with new scaling for exptime, exptime did not
need to be changed, seeing .8"

- started NDsn2494_g, slowly lost focus over the OB, seeing .9-1."

- started NDsn2494_r, seeing .7"

- moving to OSUudsu/UDSNW02, focused image

- OB error, 'left main mirror failed to focus', all looks ok but lost
5th image in series.

parameters, cleared all corrections and refocused, only to reach same
limit again. focus is good though

- Started M81 OB, seeing ~1.5

-shifting 25'N for focus offset to repeat M81 OB, repeating due to poor
image quality and cloud cover.  Unable to complete due to problem with
telescope.

- telescope working again, trying skyflats.  skyflat test in V 1sec exptime, 4K

- V skyflat OB with 3sec exptime, getting errors form mirror, mirror
down, stopped OB. switching to sdt_U filter

UT 13:33
- skyflat test in sdt_U 2sec exptime, warnings from telescope, mirror
adjusting?, stopped OB

UT 13:36
- restarted sdt_U skyflat OB, 1 sec exp, too bright.
