LBT OSU/RC Queue Observing: UTC 2009 March 26 Observers: Ondrej Pejcha, Paul Martini TO: Wayne Wack AA: Olga Kuhn Summary: Technical problems with the telescope AZ drive prevented operation until 10pm. This was ultimately traced to a problem with an electronics board. In addition, there were some problems with the chillers and to minimize the load on them the mirror ventilation was only run on one mirror at a time for the whole night. The seeing was generally between 1.5" and 2.0", although it increased at the end of the night. The elevation drive was also sticking at the end of the night, which caused tracking to fail on some exposures. About 4 hours lost due to technical problems. There was some cirrus at the start of the night, but it was clear at dawn. Observed: N4258, N4449, N3077, N4236, N4605, N4736, GRB080310, N6946, Flats in Uspec and r-SLOAN Detailed notes: UT 0000 Bias frames. UT 0630 N4258. Seeing about 1.2". First blue channel image trailed due to the same derotator bug observed on previous nights. UT 0715 N4449. Seeing about 1.4", slightly worse for the blue channel. UT 0800 N3077. Seeing about 2.0". UT 0815 N4236. Seeing about 1.8". UT 0845 N4605. Seeing in red channel about 1.5", slightly worse in blue. UT 0915 N4736. First red image trailed. Seeing about 1.5". UT 0945 GRB080310. Seeing at 1.5"-1.6", slightly worse at the end of OB. UT 1045 Problems with tracking caused by stuck elevation drive. UT 1130 N6946. Seeing varied between 2.0" and 3.0". UT 1245 Flat fields in Uspec, r-SLOAN
