OSU/RC Queue Observing UTC 2012 Apr 27 (civil date 2012 Apr 26/27) ====================================== Observers: P. Martini, S. Adams Telescope Operator: G. Bechetti Support Astronomer: O. Kuhn Instrument: LBC -> MODS Summary: Photometric all night, but major temperature change and windy Seeing improved from 2" -> 1" by the end of the night Observed 2 targets from OSU_LSNe, SN2011fe, SN2011dh, J1717, 3 spectrophotometric star observations, and longslit calibrations UT 0200 Too windy to open, dT=10 btw mirror and outside air Skies are clear UT 0230 Able to open, attempting twilight flats Too dark for twilight flats, starting collimation Trying collimation UT0310 Collimation is not converging due to extreme temperature changes and gradient on the mirror. Giving up on LBC and switching to MODS. UT0350 Finished changover, starting MODS setup Wind is continuing to drop UT0413 Start with MODSPhotCal/hz44 UT0434 Starting OBs/OSU_LSNe/PS1-12fo-UT04.acq UT0450 Observing OBs/OSU_LSNe/PS1-12fo.obs Seeing improved from 2.0"->1.4" UT0610 Still clear outside, the wind is settling down, seeing 1.3" Starting OBs/OSU_SN2011fe_UT7.acq UT0730 completed OSU_SN2011fe_UT7.obs - seeing varying between 0.9-1.4" initially started to acquistion script for OSU_CHAOS, but aborted after deciding the seeing was too poor for this program starting OBs/OSU_LSNe/PS-11xl-08.acq UT0750 starting OBs/OSU_LSNe/PS-11xl.obs UT0900 observing MODSPhotCal/hz44 UT0925 still clear with moderate wind, seeing 1.2" starting OSU_SN2011dh UT1015 starting j1717lls seeing a little worse than requested so we changed the nimgs from 3 to 4 aborted 1st exposure of j1717lls.obs after a minute due to rotator limit UT1040 started j1717lls.obs again UT1120 moving to BD332642 appears to have picked the wrong guide star UT1145 starting BD332642 UT1210 starting calibration scripts for 1" and 1.2" slits
