OSU/RC Queue Observing UTC 2012 Apr 30 (civil date 2012 Apr 29/30) ====================================== Observers: P. Martini, S. Adams Telescope Operator: G. Bechetti Support Astronomer: O. Kuhn Instrument: MODS Summary: Clear all night, with seeing 0.8-1.1" Observed NGC5194_2, NGC5194_3, OSU_Bootes_prism, and spectrophotometric standards UT0140 Experiments with blue prism flats + VFLAT + UG5 VFLAT 10. + UG5 okay with max 10-12s exposures, although produces an order of magnitude or so fewer counts at the blue end relative to a 1s QTH + UG5 lamp UT0200 Opening up to equilibrate temperatures Skies are clear UT0220 pointing calibration and collimation UT0233 acqMODS feige34.acq, seeing 0.8" UT0241 execMODS feige34.obs -> aborted script after taking the dual grating and red grating images because we do not need blue grating and red & blue prims images, but forgot to comment out those sections of the OB execMODS -b dualPrism feige34.obs UT0314 execMODS NGC5194_2.acq tried out modsAlign_v116 and modsAlignd next aligned with original modsAlign, but had trouble with alignment. This may be because of the 3 stars, 1 is saturated and 1 is outside 5' circle. Although modsAlign seems to be returning an offset PA angle of opposite sign to what it should be UT0410 execMODS NGC5194_2.obs, 0.8" seeing UT0626 MODS Dashboard stopped refreshing after the 5th exposure aborted the script and then re-ran it to obtain the final exposure UT0650 acqMODS NGC5194_3.acq UT0702 execMODS NGC5194_3.obs UT0916 acqMODS sdss1159.acq -> oops, too low acqMODS OSU_Bootes_prism.acq UT0939 execMODS OSU_Bootes_prism.obs, seeing 1.1" (finished from yesterday with 3 more 1800s, although the last one goes into twilight a little) UT1115 acqMODS bd332642.acq UT1121 execMODS bd332642.obs UT1140 finished observations... twilight starting morning calibrations (flats, lamps, and biases for prism)
