Observers: Gerke, Croxall, Grammer Telescope Operator: Geno Bechetti Support Astronomer: Olga Kuhn Instrument: MODS1 Observing log for 02-13-2013 Clear skies, low humidity. Snow has melted off the dome. some clouds exist in the valley, but well below the mountain peak. Play-by-play: 01:44 - Mirror collimation complete. ~0.9" seeing Acquiring first target standard G191B2B. 02:20 - Acquiring second target OSU_RV hotstar1 variable seeing between 0.7 and 1.5, but mostly good seeing. we are obtaining a short img of each star as well as the requested image due to saturation of the 10s exposure. 02:50 - Aquiring OSU_RV hotstar2 seeing settling down to ~1" changed the imaging to red only rather than dual so that there are no changes as the drum changes 03:20 - Aquiring OSU_ORLs HoII seeing a bit bouncy from 1-1.5" 05:50 - Acquiring OSU_CHAOS ngc3938_f2 seeing still uncertain between 0.9 and 1.2" 08:15 - Acquiring ND_rose seeing settled to ~0.8" using blind offset 10:30 - Acquiring OSU_CHAOS ngc3627_f2 seeing at 0.6" guiding system crashed. had to stop image 10min in. Stopped exposure at 10 min. adjusted obs to take 5x20 min and 1 10 min. reaquired image and applied same offset quickly checked alignment. Less than 3 pixel shift. restarted program. 11:34 - guider died again due to guider problems and delays we had to end the observations on the OSU_CHAOS program early due to the beginning of twilight. Only 1h40 were acquired on NGC3627_f2. It still needs another 20min exposure to finish out the 2hours requested. Also as a result, two of the images are 10 minute exposures. 12:42 - acquiring standard star gd153
