Observing Log for 2013 June 6/7

Summary:  

Observed standard Feige66 at sunset, OSU_CHAOS-NGC5055_f2 and UVa_BCD-J1442Lc.  Observed 2 
full exposures and 20min of last 30min exposure for OSU_EAGES-365043 due to clouds 
(checked as done but we are checking with PI).  Observed 2 of 4 exposures from UVa_HS1851 
before lost guide star due to increasing clouds.  Observed standard BD284211 then closed.

Details:

calibrations: bias8k,  bias3k, grflats
Interrupted for telescope team to test a collimating patch.
Looks ok, so we will use it tonight.

Ventilation dome needs to be opened for temperature regulation. Also, we have so many masks that 
need calibration and the rest of the run looks clear so we will be open.  Thus we will try to 
take mask lamps even though the ventilation doors are open under the assumption that scattered 
light will not hamper calibrating using the lamps.

This first was a mistake because it did not first run the Archive and Instrument blocks.

We decided that using blocks was a pain so we are making separate lamp and flat scripts.

There is some scattered light on the blue side (which is exactly why we are only doing lamps).  
We called Kevin Croxall who thinks the scattered light might be ok.  We sent him an image to 
verify.  If they will not be acceptable we will have to retake the lamps with the dome dark.

Conditions at sunset:  clear overhead, some clouds to North.  little to no wind, temperature stable.

09:24   trying different part of sky with UVa_HS1851
09:36   execMODS, guide star looks good, still some light clouds overhead, seeing ~0.9
10:01   increasing clouds,  lost guide star again.  got 2 of 4 exposures.

10:04  Moving to standard star

10:20  clouds increasing

10:30  no guide star, now moderate cirrus over whole sky.  Closing dome.
