OSURC run June 25 - July 1 UT June 24-25 to June 30-July 1 civil Sixth night: UT 2014 June 30 Observers: Scott Adams, Don Terndrup (OSU) Support Astronomer: Olga Kuhn Telescope Operator: Steve Allanson Calm winds. Sky is half covered from the zenith to the west horizon with thick smoke. No smoke at mountain elevation, nor is there any sign of ashfall, but we will delay opening while we see how it evolves. STARTING INSTRUMENT: MODS 03:09 UT: Opening enclosure. 03:26 UT: Moving to BD+33 2642 03:33: First acquisition image for standard is called 140629M8.001.fits 03:35: Starting sequence - dual grating and dual grism Guider seeing about 1" 04:02 UT: Starting science exposures for ASASSN14bu Guider seeing about 1.6" (1.7 airmass) 04:45 UT: Going to ND_v418Ser 05:07: Starting science exposures. DIMM seeing 1"-1.2". Originally specified guide star in the acquistion script was too faint. Switched to a brighter one. This object is REALLY faint: maybe only 10 counts per pixel. 05:46 UT: Moving to ND_uwcrb Setting up for simultaneous LBC-Red while spectra are taken. Olga Kuhn has kindly joined us via video conference to talk us through the process. 06:18: Have begun spectra and imaging. Seeing is about 0.9". Have confirmed pointing on the LBC images. The spectra are pretty faint. Seeing on images is as good as 0.7". DIMM says 0.8". 08:13 UT: Observing OSU_QSO DES2136+103 08:58 UT: Starting OSU_QSO DES2108-0039 09:51 UT: Moving to OSU_QSO DES2131-011 10:02: Starting first science exposure DIMM seeing 0.9" 10:47 UT: Moving a spectrophotometric standard - Feige110 10:53: Starting image sequence - dual grating and dual prism 11:12 UT: Finished.
