LBT OSU/RC Observing Notes

Summary: The night started with a telescope elevation drive failure. About
         two hours were lost for that.  Then observations were started in 
         less than ideal conditions which deteriorated over the course of 
         the night.  By the time that the moon rose, even our bad weather 
         targets were unobservable.  We observed longer than the weather 
         justified, but got some experience with future targets.

UT 00:19  Start of night  
          Setting up to Observe with MODS1 and LBC red
          (for ND_mls program)
          However, telescope drive is causing problems and weather
          may be deteriorating faster tan indicated by the 
          Mt. Graham clear dark sky chart
          currently transparency is good
          wind is low ~1 m/s
          humidity is low

UT 03:05  Telescope elevation drive is back to operational

UT 03:10  Opening dome shutters

UT 03:32  Start acquiring OSU_SBqsos4civ/q0118
          
UT 03:41  Start q0118
          seeing 0.7, wind low, humidty low,
          transparency good now, but clouds coming

UT 04:05  Start acquiring OSU_M33/M33_LS3
          transparency deteriorating
          switched to 3k x 3k acquistion from original OB

UT 04:29  Start M33_LS3
          seeing ~ 0.7

UT 05:35  Start acquiring OSU_ASASSN/ASASSN15nx
          seeing ~0.9, transparency highly variable

UT 05:50  Start 15nx

UT 06:44  Re-acquiring 15nx with new position angle

UT 06:53  Start 15nx at new PA
          variable transparency, but we're able to work.
          The guide star showed up to 3 magnitudes of variation.

UT 07:48  Start aquiring MODSPhotCal/g191b2b

UT 08:01  Start g191b2b
          abort
          decided that acquistion was not correct due to 
          grabbing wrong guide star
          this was followed by an error message saying that the 
          red side CCD temperature was 40 C, but that was quickly followed
          by a message saying everything is ok.  So we ignored it except for
          this log entry.

UT 11:15  Decided that the weather conditions were so bad and getting
          worse that it was time to quit.

UT 11:30  Ran some MODS calibrations: SLITFLATS.cal
