LBT OSU/RC Observing Notes Date: 2016 Feb 08 (UT) Observers: Kevin Croxall (at Tucson Remote Facility) Support: Olga Kuhn TelOps: Gino Bechetti Summary: Thickish, but thining clouds at sunset. Stayed fairly clear all night long with only some scattered cirrus. Had some issues with seeing spikes at a couple points in the night, but it calmed down relatively quickly each time. Did not charge the queue for ND_ksn15g as no spectra were taken. Completed science targets: OSU_ASASSN/ASASSN16ah OSU_SN2015I OSU_ASASSN/ASASSN14ae OSU_ASASSN/ASASSN14li ND_LLSgals/sbs1122c OSU_ASASSN/ASASSN16at OSU_SBqsos4civ/q1235 ND_ksn15g - spent acq and overhead time to image and align. target was significantly faded so no spectrum taken _____________________________________________________________ UT 01:06 Getting MODS setup and seeing how bad the cloud cover is with a bright star... 4th magnitude star hard to see.. UT 01:35 Skies clearing some. We can now see a 10th mag star UT 01:55 acqMODS G191-B2B UT 02:03 G191-B2B UT 02:27 OSU_ASASSN/ASASSN16ah skies are clearing up more now. seeing ~0.9" UT 03:35 OSU_SN2015I had to change guide stars as the selected guide star had a companion and could not be used. Needed a deeper acq image as the SN has faded significantlyi (used 90s). seeing ~1.1" UT 04:43 both braod lines in the SN and nebular emission in the host are seen in the first image. seeing variable 1"-1.3" UT 07:18 OSU_ASASSN/ASASSN14ae seeing ~1.2" UT 08:13 OSU_ASASSN/ASASSN14li had to change guide star, could not collimate seeing ~0.9" UT 08:55 seeing blew up... then recovered within ~1 min... inversion layer hitting again... seeing ~1.4" UT 09:47 ND_ksn15g seeing back to ~1" no SNR visible in image. looked at the quick bias corrected image as well and saw no sign. As noted in the README file, not taking a spectrum UT 10:04 ND_LLSgals/sbs1122c seeing ~0.9" UT 11:26 OSU_ASASSN/ASASSN16at definitely there. seeing ~0.9" UT 12:02 OSU_SBqsos4civ/q1235 UT 12:52 Hz44
