Date: 2017 May 30 UT Observers: Jon Brown, Patrick Vallely TO: Steve A. SA: Barry R. (on call) Moon phase: Summary: Completed Programs: Calibrations: Details (All times UT): ---------------------------------- 01:00 -- Ok, weather looks pretty bad. If we open, we're not going to have much time before PEPSI handover. We'll get on sky as early as possible and then camp on OSU_UDG/udg1214 for as long as we can. Starting with the 2.4" slit flats, which weren't covered in the previous calibrations. We dialed back the exposure times from the 1.2" slitflats, but the counts were still saturated...aborted and tried again with lower exp times. 02:45 -- Collimating/waiting for it to get dark. If we're extraordinarily lucky, we might catch a hole in the clouds, but it may be short lived. 03:15 -- Starting udg1214.obs. The seeing is good at least (~0.8"), but the transparancy is pretty dodgy. 03:35 -- Nothing obvious on the 2D frames after 1 exposure. 04:40 -- Time to hand the telescope over to PEPSI. We're stopping the exposures, which should read them out, so the last images will only be ~10 min rather than 20 min.
