Date: 2018 May 20 (UT) Observers: Brown, Vallely TO: Geno Bechetti SA: Olga Kuhn (on call) Moon phase: Summary: Ran LBC with pretty much no hiccups for nearly the entire night, almost finished all the OSU_monitor targets. Switched to MODS at the very end to try and get ASASSN-18jd, but we missed our narrow window. Finished up with some cals. Tried the UM_M83/M83_F1.cal script but there was an IMCS failure to lock followed by a repeated error with the blue filter. Olga will have someone look into this during the day. Minor technical issues: See above, blue filter. Calibrations: LBC twilight flats More of the standard MODS cals, and also M83_F1.cal Completed Programs: LBC: OSU_monitor/N2403 OSU_monitor/N3489 OSU_monitor/N3627 OSU_monitor/M81 OSU_monitor/M82 OSU_monitor/N4826 OSU_monitor/N3077 OSU_monitor/N4736 OSU_monitor/N4258 OSU_monitor/N4236 OSU_monitor/N6946 MODS: MODSPhotCal/bd284211 Details (All times UT): ---------------------------------- Plan: Use LBC most of the night, switch to MODS at the very end. 02:00 - sunset 02:30 - Starting twilight flats. 03:30 - N2903 is next to the Moon, we're doing N2403 instead. 03:55 - Starting N2403.ob. Conditions look good, seeing ~1.2" but we're pretty low in the sky. 04:20 - Starting N3489.ob. Seeing substantially better ~0.7". 05:10 - Starting N3627.ob. 06:05 - Starting M81.ob. Conditions holding steady, seeing ~0.7". 06:30 - Starting M82.ob. 06:50 - Starting N4826.ob. 07:45 - Starting N3077.ob. Very low in the sky, image quality may not be great. 08:05 - Starting N4736.ob. Sky very clear, seeing ~0.9", everything running smoothly. 08:35 - Starting N4258.ob. 09:30 - Starting N4236.ob. 09:55 - Starting N6946.ob. Conditions appear to be holding steady, seeing still ~1". 10:30 - Switching to MODS to try and get ASASSN-18jd. 11:00 - Acquiring bd284211. 11:40 - Had some collimation issues, missed our window. Going to run some MODS calibrations and LBC biases.
