Date: 2019 Jun 08 UTC Observers: Pogge, Vallely (on-site) TO: David Gonzalez SA: Dave Thompson (remote from home) Moon phase: Waning crescent (~25% illumination) Summary: Fairly good night all around. Lost some time early to clouds, but was able to fill that with cals and get back on sky for science observations without much hassle. Calibrations: OSU_CGM - B21721 UM_M83 - M83_F2 Completed Programs: ND_Carbon - smss1738, hd198269 OSU_CGM - B21721 OSU_ASASSN - ASASSN18jd Details (All times UT): ---------------------------------- 01:50 - Test preset MODS1+2 Sky clearing (daytime thermal clouds, light breeze) 03:00 - Some issues with MODS1 still having collimator covers in place, had to do a lock out/tag out to remove them. 03:35 - Moving to standard star Hz44, doing collimation. 04:10 - Hoping to take advantage of good seeing to hit ASASSN17dj 05:15 - Had to abort midway through second exposure after losing guide star to clouds. In 30 min exposure we can detect the continuum, and we see H-alpha, N II, H-beta, O III. 05:30 - enclosure closed, running cals B21721 (OSU_CGM) - ~16 minutes M83_F2 (UM_M83) - ~20 minutes 06:15 - Clouds cleared enough to re-open, but still some cirrus. Going to go after some bright carbon stars. Seeing has been extremely variable during the exposure (ranging between 1" and >1.5") 07:10 - Now starting B21721. Seeing started pretty good (~0.8") and got better throughout the run (down to 0.6"). 09:45 - Going to go after ASASSN18jd to end the night. Decent ~1.2" seeing. 11:00 - Ending observations, as it is past twilight and sky brightness is rising.
