Date: 2019 Jun 29 UTC Observers: Pogge, Vallely (on-site) TO: David Gonzalez SA: Dave Thompson (remote from home) Moon phase: Waning crescent (~13% illumination) Summary: Bad weather for most of the night, used this for MDOS cals. Was able to salvage some science with good sky near the end of the night. Calibrations: All of the MODS calibrations. grpixflats, grlamps, slitflats_jun19, bias21, bias3K Completed Programs: OSU_dwarf - asassn18bq Details (All times UT): ---------------------------------- 02:00 - Not looking good. Lots of clouds above, and rain visible out in the valley. 02:40 - Definitely not opening right away, so taking some cals. 04:00 - We note it is now raining rather heavily. Carrying on with our calibration scripts. 05:25 - Rain has stopped. Still cloudy though. Done with MODS cals. 07:00 - About to give it a shot and open up. Hoping to get v1432. Having issues with cloud cover at start, bright star for initial collimation lost to cloud. Hoping to wait them out and still observe this target. 08:15 - Clouds didn't cooperate, heavy overcast right on top of Aquilla, and by the time it started to clear and we could open up again, the window for observing v1432 passed. 08:20 - Now moving to try to hit asassn18bq after opening and checking zero-points and collimation. 08:35 - Easily acquired main target for asassn18bq. Seeing is ~0.8" First spectra show H-alpha, [O III], and H-beta. 10:15 - Moving on to a standard star to end the night. Good seeing ~0.6".
